Devolving

Are we as a species "devolving" in "Nevolution"  "exolution" nixolution?  In reverse evolution  you would maybe still call it evolution, but it's evolution in reverse and evolution's not inclusive of direction. As a species we constantly change, but in what direction? Should there be an actual process describing evolution that, while it's still adapting, the evolving is not considered advancement in the species?

We need to be able to say, something other than "evolution " since that doesn't describe clearly a loss of abillity rather a gain in abillities.
